Controls Engineer

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

Engineering training, qualifications, or equivalent experience
Experience programming automation systems
Ability to learn quickly
An understanding of complex technical solutions
Excellent PLC programming skills
Ability to manage and implement industrial projects from design through commissioning using current technology
Basic knowledge of machine vision systems and technology
Understanding of common automation platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Customer service experience is highly valued

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

Designing, developing, and implementing PLC/HMI based control and automation systems for customers
Developing well-documented and flexible PLC code using a standard programming language
Participating in the estimation and proposal phase of major projects by conducting research and analysis based on customer proposals, specifications, or other information
Assisting in pre-project planning
Designing automation systems and functional designs based on partner or customer provided control descriptions, joint-design sessions with partners or customers, or analysis of existing operations
Designing and developing HMIs that are professional and clean, with a simple and common navigation structure
Working with other team members, partners, and customers to oversee and share designs and development responsibilities to deliver successful projects
Developing solutions to support testing and commissioning activities
Providing on-site commissioning support and customer training, including the supervision of other team members and partners
Other adjacent duties, as required
