Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or management or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with a mechanical or controls engineering discipline
- 1+ years of working knowledge of manufacturing-type contracts, preferably in the automation or machine tool industry
- 1+ years working knowledge of equipment, process, and commonly used design practices for automation projects
- Experience with automation systems engineering and integration in the automotive manufacturing industry
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering terms and principals
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and Google Applications (such as Gmail, Calendar, and Docs)
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to perform engineering tasks
- Ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing people and projects efficiently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized with acute attention to detail
- An analytical mind that can problem solve and propose creative solutions
- Willingness and ability to travel to and from work sites
- Customer service experience is highly valued
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Examining and understanding customer-supplied specifications to ensure that the functionality of the equipment meets specifications
- Ensuring that equipment operates per customer requirements as outlined in the approved specification
- Directing program activities pertaining to assembly equipment and coordinating activities of the personnel responsible for the design, construction, and implementation of assembly systems
- Managing several projects simultaneously
- Reviewing and approving assembly systems, vendors’ proposed designs, and processes
- Overseeing equipment through all phases of development
- Constructing project timelines, monitoring and managing those timelines to achieve delivery milestones
- Directing team personnel, manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and others involved in the development and implementation of assembly systems
- Monitoring projects closely, providing direction and support to the project team
- Working cross-functionally to ensure project success including with accounting, design, manufacturing, engineering, and shipping
